Chuck Fenda, Lenya find romance?

Roxroy McLean, Star Intern

Lenya Wilks - File

Following their latest single, Hypnotise, Chuck Fenda and Lenya Wilks seem to have their fans guessing as rumours have been spreading that the two are now romantically involved.

When contacted by THE STAR, Wilks neither confirmed nor denied the rumours, at first saying, "I won't say no and I won't say yes."

She further added: "The best thing I can say is that it is a business relationship, nothing personal or intimate, just pure music."

Aware of the rumours

Wilks said she was aware of the rumours, but remained adamant that there was nothing going on between the two.

"Oh my God ... I have been asked this question plenty of times since we have done the song ... but as I tell everybody before, I won't comment on it," she said.

"What I hear is that people are saying the words in the song mean more than what it is, but that is what people will say. But, again, it's just music, it's just two people singing a song," she added.

Similar response

Chuck Fenda - File

Chuck Fenda also had a similar response when contacted by THE STAR.

"I don't want to talk about it (the relationship) ... because I really don't want people to listen to the song for that reason ... the song is a very powerful song, and our thing is just to strengthen the woman," he said.

Start to speculate

"Everywhere I go in Jamaica there are people asking me this question ... when I did the song Are You Coming Over Tonight with Cherine, people started to speculate, now the same thing is happening with Lenya and me," Fenda said.

Meanwhile, Wilks, who said she was introduced to Chuck Fenda after the 2007 Rising Stars competition by producer Shane Brown, is still basking in her success since the talent show ended.

"After the competition, I was doing a song for the Rising Stars single, produced by Shane Brown, and he said he wanted me to do a song with Chuck Fenda, and I said yes, and that was last year November," Wilks noted.

Things are good

"I'm now under the management of Beres Hammond ... things are good, I was on a six-week tour with Beres in North America ... It was Beres Hammond's 'Moment In Time' Tour.

"I'm working on my album which is expected to be released next year ... I want my fans to continue believing in me, just as in Rising Stars ... because Lenya is going to make more music, and don't believe everything you hear," she said.

Chuck Fenda, who is known for songs like Gash Dem And Light Dem, said that his fans should expect bigger and better things from him in the near future.

"Well you done know a just righteousness ... I will keep on spreading Jah music to the fullest," he stated. "We don't watch illusion and confusion, righteousness all the way. You know is not me a do this ... is just Jah works."
