High-riding St James High School widened their lead atop the standing in Zone A of the 2008 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup yesterday afternoon when goals by Allan Ottey (two), Jason Malcolm and Nicholi Barrett gave them a big 4-0 win over new-comers Green Pond 4-0 at Green Pond.
"We should have won by a much wider margin because we got the chances to do so," said Pastor Hugh Solomon, the coach of the St James High team. "Nonetheless we are satisfied that we got maximum three points from the game," he added.
With the other two games in the zone ending in draws, Herbert Morrison 2-2 against Irwin High and Cornwall College 0-0 against newcomers Spot Valley, St. James, now on 14 points, are three points clear of second place Cornwall College (10).
