The two accused women, Lisa East and Latoya Jonas, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday to answer charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property.

They pleaded not guilty and the matter is set to be mentioned in the night court on September 29.

Ann-Marie Edwards, the complainant, is also charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property. Edwards told the court that three men ganged her babyfather and she went to defend him and when she realised that she could not help him, she went to the police to report the matter.

She added that later that evening the two accused women saw her on Molynes Road, St Andrew, and beat her up, saying that she was an informer.
