Samboni may only be known for his many mixed CDs but he is still waiting for the song that will give him the ultimate 'buss'.

The artiste, real name Kacey Bernard, says he has street credit from his mixed CDs, but he does not have the linkages that he needs in the music industry to become a popular entertainer.

"I don't get the real recognition so I don't want to have any big launch for an album. So I just have the mix-tape fi gwaan get the street credit and buzz in the business cause I am still in the gutter," he told THE STAR.

Though Samboni believes he is one of the best lyricists in the music industry, he has problems getting airplay. He says it is even harder to get one of the top producers to voice him because he is not well-known.

"Fi get airplay is a burden. If yuh nuh inna a certain crowd or have certain links, it hard," he said.

Because of his unpopularity, Samboni said his version of Rum Ram with dancer Collo Collo, which was the first one done, did not get as much recognition as those done by QQ and Elephant Man. But although his song did not get the airplay that he wanted, he got the opportunity to do dubplates for sound systems such as Alaska.

Nonetheless, Samboni has other songs like The Prayer, Throw Your Hands Up and Beef. He also says he wants to do a song with his friend Chi Ching Ching called The Dribble, which he hopes will get heavy rotation in time for World Cup 2010.

In addition, he wants to do a collaboration with his musical idol Bounty Killer. Samboni believes he has the talent that Bounty Killer will be able to push in the dancehall.

Samboni says, "by 2009, I would love to have a real album out. I want to get recognised by the last quarter of the year and by 2009 mi just put it inna overdrive. I also want to do more shows."

Samboni who has performed at shows like Rendezvous and Mavado's Birthday Bash says, "nuff people know mi so is just a matter of time before mi explode."
