Every community wants a star to boast about, and they always seem to rise at the right time. Cameal Davis, who lives in the Denham Town community has risen to be among the stars. The Starsat with the talented singer to ask a few questions.
the STAR What do you think of the talent on the show?
Cameal Davis: It's a variety, everybody has their own style and flavour.
the STAR: What do you like most about the competition?
Cameal Davis: I like the fact that young people are getting a chance to expose their talents.
the STAR: Who is your favourite Rising Star winner of all time?
Cameal Davis: I like Romain, and I also like Christopher Martin.... because they are young and not afraid to sing, and I love it when singers belt out their voices.
the STAR: Do you think there can be a female winner of Rising Stars this year?
Cameal Davis: Yes, because I expect to be the winner.
the STAR: Who do you think is your major competition?
Cameal Davis: Everybody, they are all talented singers.
the STAR: Is judge Anthony Miller as mean as people think he is?
Cameal Davis: Actually no, Anthony is my favourite judge even before I enter this competition. I say this because every competition needs a judge like him. Yes, he's harsh but it motivates you to do better.
the STAR: Which entertainer, local or international would you like most to work with?
Cameal Davis: Locally, it would be Tarrus Riley or Beres Hammond, and Internationally Yolanda Adams, they are so positive about what they are singing, and they sing with
passion.
the STAR: Which Rising Star past contestant/winner you not want to compete against?
Cameal Davis: One-third. Every girl like them an a mostly female vote on Rising Stars, and male them vote for.
