Someone to love and another to hold

Dear Pastor,

I'm a frequent reader of your column and I need your fatherly advice. I moved to the USA two years ago from Jamaica. When I was there, I was involved with a guy for five years. We really loved each other and he treated me like a queen. When I moved here, we decided that we would continue our relationship. It's been two years now and I haven't seen him and it's driving me crazy. We do communicate over the phone and by email, but it is never enough. I need some physical contact. I need someone who I can go to when I'm having bad days. I need someone to hold me.

The other guy

The problem is that I met another guy recently and he is extremely good to me. He doesn't pressure me for anything and he is so understanding. He's always there for me whenever I need him. We have so much fun together and he makes me laugh. I'm starting to fall for this guy and I don't know what to do. I still love the guy in Jamaica and I know he still loves me, but I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to do.

Pastor, do I stay with the guy in Jamaica or do I go with the guy over here? I'm confused. Please, help me. Thanks for the advice.

F.R., New York, USA

Dear F.R.,

You have got what you wanted and that is a man who would touch, hug, kiss and have sex with you whenever you feel the need. I am putting it to you that you are not such a good girl. If you were married and had to be away from your husband, you would go with another man.

You have already decided that you are going to play with the man in America. Why be a hypocrite by asking me what you should do?

Pastor
