Dear Pastor,
I am a 17-year-old girl and I have been with my boyfriend for three years. I love him with all my heart, but he is sleeping with my cousin. One day he asked me for a phone call and I gave him the call.
He made the call and did not delete her number. The next day I called the number and found out that it was my cousin.
She knew I was talking to him. Things got out of hand, so I stopped calling him. One day he called me and asked me to take him back, and I did.
Please, help me, pastor. I am getting hurt. Why should a young girl like me be having sex?
V.B., Jamaica
Dear V.B.,
When you found out that this man was having an intimate relationship with your cousin and you spoke to him about it, that should have been the end of the relationship. He is not a good man. He should not be having sex with you and your cousin.
Perhaps you felt that you should have forgiven him because you were with him before your cousin got involved, but it will be difficult for you to trust him and to relate to your cousin.
She knew that both of you were intimate friends. She should not have got intimate with him.
I cannot encourage you to continue having a relationship with this man. He is a bad man and is likely to repeat what he did.
You are not too young to learn that some men cannot be trusted, and they will go to any woman who makes herself available, even if they are related to their girlfriends or wives.
Pastor
