MC Nuffy - File

MC Nuffy is now getting set to emerge into the world in a new light. The popular stage show MC has taken on yet another title to his repertoire, recording artiste.

According to Nuffy, whose real name is Andrew Nelson, he has now taken the artiste role seriously. He not only has a couple of songs in heavy rotation on the airwaves, but was recently signed to a record label.

"One of the song is called On Di Corner done by me and on the same rhythm which is the top corner rhythm, me and Frisco Kid have another song called System. Both songs were produced on Walkway 30 label," he said.

Nuffy also confirmed that he was recently signed to Black Diamond Label, about two weeks ago.

"What happened is that Black Diamond came to me and said he had two rhythms with an artiste called Dre Don. He had two songs, Dem Nuh Real on the step up riddim and Memories on the pioneer riddim. So he wanted me as an emcee to buss him artiste, an mi sey nutt'n nuh wrong, si Ghandi gone out deh, I-Wayne, Spice, Vybz Kartel, Deva Bratt," Nuffy said.

He continued, "so during the same process, I was telling him about my artiste career and mi really serious bout it, so right away him sey him have a new one drop riddim an him want mi put a social commentary tune pon it, cause him si mi as a man wey have dem kind a influence deh."

Nuffy says right now, "Black Diamond Records is responsible for Nuffy di artiste (not MC Nuffy), so booking, management, every ting deh right deh suh."

According to Nuffy, he even finds himself coming up with lyrics, "di lyrics jus a flow, jus a come to mi. An mi already learn di basic tings from mi deejay, Ras Ghandi, suh is like mi always have topic. Cause even when mi a do interview wid Sista Elise Kelly, she a sey 'Nuffy yuh have topic long time, a jus riddim yuh want'."

Currently, Nuffy is working on two more songs. "One already voice on 'the Best of Them' label for the producer Short Man," he said. "Di song a sey, 'how shotta fi guh sey him a shot any man, any man, any manÉ' Suh people can listen out fi itÉan mi have another one wey deh pon Black Diamond Records wey a sey, 'children live what they learn', it's more like a collaboration, but it's a work in progress. But wi still a build dah tune deh."

Now, persons are wondering if it will be MC Nuffy who will take the stage and call on Nuffy the artiste, but according to Nuffy, "that will be a puzzle for the people. Mi haffi surprise di people, because I'm a new act."

In the meantime, Nuffy is working on a video for his single On Di Corner, which he says, should be shot in Gregory Park by Nordia Rose. "Suh mi a gwaan work pon a image fi dat video. So all a di fans dem wey love mi, put uno ears to di airwaves an listen, cause mi working fi di new artiste a di year an mi very serious 'bout it," he said.
