The Editor, Sir:
I couldn't help but wonder what will the relevant authorities do to stem the infestation of rats that have taken over Kingston and New Kingston.
From my vantage point, it seems as if town mouse has
invited country mouse to the city to enjoy some of the hospitality they've been having. From all indications, it's as if they have
managed to bell the cat, learnt the art of how to release rat traps and set their time on the clocks, leaving the authorities in a quandary in trying to find a way to deal with them while they (rats) keep
banquets in offices, food stores and homes.
Now, it's plain to see that those people whose duty it is to deal with this situation don't have a clue on their next move. Maybe not until the rats cut off the farmer's wife's tail with a sharpened knife will they be eradicated from these communities.
My advice to those in authority is to go work out a formula with the 'rats' union', the NEPA and act fast for the worst is at hand.
I am, etc.,
