Fifty-seven-year-old Pam Corey, walked away with the first ever Mrs. Hedonism title, in that competition held at Hedonism II in Negril, recently.

The paramedic, who won the Miss Hedonism crown in 1999, hails from the city of Pittsburg in Pennsylvania.

She eclipsed seven other US-based contestants to lift the title, and won for herself the Mrs. Hedonism trophy, five complimentary nights at the hotel, and a gift voucher from The Shops. She also won the sectional award for best personality.

The competition, which began shortly after 9 p.m., saw the eight contestants parading in what was 'Sexy Hedo wear', followed by lingerie from the contestants' own wardrobe, and then evening wear.

The question and answer segment proved to be perhaps the most surprising, as the contestants were asked questions about Hedonism resorts, its history and its physical structure, and not the raunchy questions typical of other Hedonism pageants.

But, at the end of the night it was the bubbly Mrs Corey who nabbed the winners prize, with the diminutive Jadha Mohammed and Cammy Belsar, as her runners up.

"It was quite a surprise, when it was announced that I had won," Mrs Corey told The Star.

And Public Relations Manager at the resort Rochelle Forbes, explained that the competition is limited to married women. She said it was held at this time so the event could be trademarked in the United States.

"We wanted to add the essence of marriage, so we had to make it a bit different," she said.
