Searching the water

Dear Pastor,

I like this guy. We were making out, kissing and touching each other when out of no where he tells me to start searching the water and to look for my age. He is 17 and I'm 18. He says that it's not me. Do you think it's a good idea to not talk to him at all or should I simply talk to him as a friend even though I know he likes one of my friends. I also think he is playing with me. We saw each other one night and he hugged my friend, then I saw him the following morning and he walked right by me. I think he wants me to stop liking him. Maybe he doesn't feel the same way for me as I do for him.

Please tell me what you think I should do about this problem?

N.B., Tampa, Florida

Dear N.B.,

Obviously this guy is not interested in you the way you are in him. One cannot force someone to like them. I therefore suggest that you discontinue considering him as your boyfriend. And please remember that by allowing this guy to toy with your body is a recipe for disaster. Please, concentrate on your lesson. You are not ready to have an intimate boyfriend.

Pastor
