One down, two to go!

As a part of of our mission to be the people paper, THE STAR has been highlighting problem areas across the island. Our reporter, Sacha Walters and photographer, Norman Grindley, will focus on a particular area until the problem is fixed. Now, we will have a rough idea of how long the relevant authorities take to deal with some of the problems affecting our country.

A new record has been set!

Last week we focused on a traffic light, which was almost covered with vines, at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and Arthur Wint Drive, in St. Andrew. Less than one week later, it has been cleared making it the first problem to have been rectified so quickly.

Thumbs up to the National Works Agency as this makes the second problem in the Fix This feature which has been fixed by the organisation in a timely manner.

THE OTHER PROBLEMS

However, we have two other problems on our list which have in some way become dear old friends. The potholes on Aldene Crescent in the Ziadie Gardens community are still in need of dire repair. Residents say that they are still making efforts to have it fixed but to no avail. It is the sixth week since we have been focusing on that problem.

Our dearer and older friend, the broken sidewalk at the intersection of North Street and Pryce Lane, remains an issue. Its been over three months, come on National Works Agency don't let us down.
