Spare the time

The STAR's No Violence In Schools tour yesterday rolled into Edith Dalton James High School. As expected, the students were more than excited and could hardly wait to see their favourite entertainers perform.

As we all know, even the most talentless artiste has fans and these fans may request an autograph, which is essentially a signature. Now, unless your name has 250 characters, it shouldn't take more than a minute to give someone an autograph. One artiste on the No violence tour, however, was obviously unable to spare this minute.

A female student approached the artiste for an autograph but was rudely rebuffed. The artiste told the student that he was at the event "to sing, not sign." Now, really, how rude and impolite can one individual be? Why would you volunteer to be a part of an event but not be willing to undertake all that comes along with it? Fame is apparently too much for some to deal with.

Can you imagine how the girl must have felt? No one likes to be disrespected or embarrassed and surely not by someone he/she looks up to. How can this person look at himself in the mirror and feel good? So, everyone has moods. We know this, but when you are in the public eye, it is important to not let these moods get the better of you. It is also important to not let 'hype' get to your head as well.

Listen mister deejay, the fact that you can string a few rhyming words together does not make you God. You need to remember this.
