BIGGA - On trial in Eurpoe

Boys' Town's defensive midfielder, Oneil 'Bigga' Thompson, is currently in Europe where he will spend the next few weeks on trial with clubs in Iceland and Norway.

Thompson left the island on Friday and Boys' Town coach Andrew Price said he spoke with the player yesterday and that he has settled in comfortably despite the wintery conditions.

"We really wish him all the best and wish good things for him," said Price.

"I don't expect him back before the middle of January, if he does come back at all. He's going to go to a couple of countries and see if he can get an offer."

Price also said the trials are at Division One clubs.

Thompson has been a key component in the middle for Boys' Town and Price said if the club loses him they will simply have to adjust.

"There are going to be times when you are going to lose players' whether to national duties or overseas' but we sent off Oneil with our best wishes because we have capable players within our team to fill in when he is not here."

Thompson became more visible after Boys' Town returned to the National Premier League for the 2005-06 season. The 6' 5" defender played his first game for Jamaica in April 2006 against the United States of America and was a regular starter during the Digicel Caribbean Cup and recent friendlies against Canada and Peru.
