Former Jamaica Under-17 player Kaemmar Daley scored four goals yesterday to carry Jamaica College (JC) to a crushing 11-0 win over newcomers Oberlin at Old Hope Road.
Daley, who was a key member of Jamaica's Under-17 squad which failed to qualify for the Youth World Cup in 2004, scored in the 12th, 15th, 18th and 89th minutes of play.
Elvis Watson, who had a very good season for JC with the cricket ball, supported Daley with a brace.
Watson, who helped JC to the Grace 'A' League cricket title, scored in the 71st and 90th minutes of play.
Paul Henry (17th), Dwayne Williams (20th), Revaughn Barnes (75th), along with own goals in the 32nd and 51st accounted for JC's big win.
Despite the dominating victory, JC's coach Alfred Henry was not a happy man.
"We played a weak team and we got complacent in certain parts of the game," he explained.
"We passed the ball around and that was encouraging, but we need to put away these teams better than this," added Henry while adding they should have won by a larger margin.
"It is very difficult to motivate the players to play against a team like Oberlin because everybody wants to get involved and do their own thing," he noted.
Oberlin's coach Rupert Green left in a hurry immediately after the game.
At Jacisera Park, Tarrant defeated St. Mary's College 6-0. Patrick Checklude scored four goals for the winners.
Like JC's coach, Tarrant's coach, Andre Rose, was not too satisfied despite the win.
"We dominated the first half, but closer to the end of the game, about the last 20 minutes, it came down to a walking game," he said.
"Based on our training programme, I am not fully satisfied, because most of my goals came from the midfield area," he added.
Former champions Charlie Smith defeated Penwood 2-0 at Tony Spaldings Sports Complex. Kevin Martin and Dennis McKenley scored for the 1995 champions.
