Two of three men who were shot by gunmen in separate incidents in the St. Catherine South police division died as a result of injuries received.
The police report that about 1:50 p.m. on September 10, residents of Bortons heard explosions and saw an unidentified male being pushed from a white Toyota Corolla and another man who was shot remained injured in the vehicle.
Investigating
While the police were investigating that incident, about an hour later they were called to Spring Village area near Camp Verley. When the lawmen went there they found a Toyota Corolla motorcar registered 2567EL with the body of a male dressed in a black merino, white shirt and blue jeans pants with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the mouth.
According to Divisional Detective Inspector Karl Malcolm, the police are trying to put the pieces together to ascertain if the shooting in Bartons was related to the unidentified man that was found dead in the car in Spring Village. He told the STAR that a strong detachment of police investigators were searching the area as the police have learnt that at least two men escaped in the bushes nearby. He added that the police will not ease until they bring closure to the case.
