Two murdered in Old Harbour

A dramatic and deadly incident unfolded in Old Harbour, St. Catherine, on Sunday, resulting in the murder of two men, and the injury of another.

The dead men are yet to be identified, but police say the third person who survived the incident is a 21-year-old man of Bannister, Old Harbour.

Reports are that at about 1:45 p.m., gunshots were heard coming from a White Toyota Sprinter, registered 2567 EL along the Barton Main Road. Two men were then thrown from the moving vehicle, and checks made revealed that the men had been shot.

One man died on the spot, while the other was admitted to hospital in serious condition.

But the drama was yet to reach its pinnacle, as the car then sped off and was followed by a white Toyota Corolla, both vehicles headed toward the Brown's Hall community.

Police combed the area extensively, and came upon the cars in the Guanaboavale district. The cars sped off, but the Corolla crashed into an embankment. The occupants were able to make a successful escape though.

Hours later, the Toyota Sprinter was found abandoned in the Spring Village area, containing the corpse of the third man. The St. Catherine South police say an extensive investigation has already been launched into the matter.
