Summer Sizzle - 'I've got an angel'

Beenie Man cuts a cake with wife D'Angela and his daughter at the end of Summer Sizzle, held at Jamalco Sports Club, Halse Hall, Clarendon, on Saturday.

When Beenie Man hit the stage just before 7:00 a.m. on Sunday to close his Summer Sizzle he was decked out in full white and smiling. The huge audience went into a frenzy as he announced Me Come Again, the flags, arms and screams going up at the JAMALCO Sports Club, Halse Hall, Clarendon.

He was soon demanding "wha tek dutty Twins of Twins/go a Portland commit sins of sins" and there was renewed cheering as he asked "or a true me gi Angel de rings of rings?"

And it was not long before he addressed Bounty Killer, whose 'Saddle To The East' was being held in St. Thomas at the same time. "Me hear sey rain fall ova desso. Nobody no go a Bounty show," he said, before the dancers were up for Frame I.

Beenie Man called on his mother and said "dem sey nobody no know har, but see har". On Dancehall Night at the bMobile Reggae Sunsplash earlier this month, Bounty Killer had said nobody knows Beenie Man's mother and deejayed "his mother is not in a good mood'".

Then Beenie Man referred to his wedding, held five days earlier. "Me sen invitation to Alliance, but dem no come," he said, going into a take-off of Lady Saw's I Got Your Man. The audience listened keenly as Beenie Man deejayed "why Angel lef' you she tiad of that tongue you got" and there was a huge 'forward', causing Beenie Man to start again. "It's my show. I can do what I like," he said, reaching "she want a man to give here real loving, some real bkst'/an now we married it a gi Bounty heart attack".
