Village await Harbour View - Hot Dawkins on a roll

ALL EYES WILL be on red-hot Village striker Fabian Dawkins when Harbour View travel to Trelawny tomorrow afternoon for their Wray and Nephew National Premier League match-up.

Dawkins on Sunday scored his seventh goal in three games, netting a double in Village's 2-2 draw with Rivoli on the road.

Last Wednesday he netted a late hat-trick to lead Village 4-1 past Waterhouse.

However, Harbour View coach Donovan Hayles isn't focusing on the national striker in particular because Village, he says, is a good team.

"The important thing to do, is not to get carried away with one particular player and ignore the supporting cast," he said. "If you do that you could find yourself in even bigger trouble."

Village's supporting cast includes Teofore Bennett and Shane Crawford, who coach Dean Weatherly believes have helped his team's turnaround.

"Fabian is definitely an inspirational player right now," he said. "He's sharp and he's on form and the team needed a quality finisher but you must remember that it's 11 players that make a team," warned Weatherly, who says professionalism has returned to Trelawny with the return of his overseas based players.

Harbour View, who hold a three-point lead over Waterhouse (12), will have to pay attention to their back line.

ANOTHER CLASSIC

In a battle of the Gardens, Arnett and Tivoli are set for another classic at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Arnett have been competing solidly all season and are locked with Tivoli and Portmore United in a three-way tie for third place.

Portmore United, the defending champions, have a home game against Wadadah. After two goalless draws they must be thinking about their form in the attacking third.

Wadadah are already in trouble, a point away from bottom of the table Constant Spring, and have to be aggressive in every game to get away from the relegation zone.

Constant Spring have to find a way off the bottom of the table but could face a tough road match at Frome against Reno.

Rivoli are still smarting from the two points they gave away in their game against Village on Sunday and face even more trouble hosting Waterhouse at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.
