Shoemaker killed during dispute

A 29-YEAR-OLD shoemaker, Nicholas Vassell of East Miranda Court in South Borough, St. Catherine, was fatally stabbed in the community on Saturday.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network, CCN, are that about 3:45 p.m., Vassell was at Miranda Road when a dispute developed between him and a mechanic.

The argument escalated into a fight during which he allegedly stabbed the mechanic. Another man, said to be an ally of the mechanic, reportedly intervened and Vassell was stabbed. The two injured men were taken to hospital where Vassell died while undergoing treatment and the mechanic admitted.

Detectives from the St. Catherine South Homicide Unit who are investigating are seeking a Vernon Darlington of Miranda Road for questioning in connection with the incident.
