SEVERAL VOLUNTEER MEMBERS of the Reflexology Association of Jamaica treated 50 members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to a therapy session at the Commissioner's office at 101 Old Hope Road on Tuesday, September 20.
Several certified reflexologist took the time out to treat the hardworking police officers to natural healing therapy based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part of the body. Thus the lawmen were given the opportunity to receive this type of treatment that helps relief pain, stress and tension.
On The Beat spoke with Sharon Reid, a certified reflexologist who said that "due to the high level of stress and pressure law officers undergo on a daily basis, the group decided on the session to help alleviate and relieve stress tension."
She disclosed that Reflexology Week is celebrated internationally every year and different sectors of society are selected for therapy. Last year the Jamaica Public Service Company employees benefited from this stress relief tension therapy. Reflexology does not cost a lot for therapy as the price ranges from $1500 to $2000 per session.
