THE FEUD BETWEEN two women who share the same "baby father", has escalated to the point where it has landed one before the court to answer to the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
40 year old Yvonne Black of Railway Lane, St James pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before the Montego Bay RM court on Friday.
The allegations are that on the 28 of last month the accused made threats to the complainant, a municipal warden, after she saw the woman at her 'baby father's' house.
The complainant subsequently had a summons served on Black.
Sustained injuries
It is further alleged that a day after Black was served the summons; she attacked the complainant as she was entering the Montego Bay Civic Centre. The woman sustained injuries to the face and her nose was broken after she was punched several times by Black.
The injuries, according to the medical report, are serious though not permanent.
In an application for bail, The accused's attorney said that his client alleges that the complainant slapped her in the chest with a pair of handcuffs and she was simply defending herself. He however recommended that both parties be sent to mediation.
Black was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 with 1 or 2 sureties, and was given a stern warning from RM Wilson smith, "I don't want to hear that before this matter is tried there are any further altercations between you and the complainant."
