The older man

Dear Pastor,

I called your show one Thursday and I promised that I would write to you about my problem. I am 16 years old and I attend a high school in Trelawny.

My problem is that I have two boyfriends, one is 32 years old and the other is 17 years old. I have not had sex with my younger boyfriend. I have however been having sex with the older one and would like to stop. I have not been able to study because I keep thinking about the older guy.

I do not want my parents to know about this, as I want to be successful and make them proud. I even thought of killing myself. Please pray for me.

Indeed you should try your best to make your parents proud. However you are worried because unfortunately, you have got involved with this older man and both of you have been going to bed. As a result, you find it difficult to concentrate on your lessons.

Perhaps you did not intend for the relationship to go that far, but one has to consider that this man is much older than you and probably took advantage of you.

End relationship

I am going to ask you to inform this man that the relationship that both of you are having should come to an end. Tell him that it is affecting your studies and causing you to feel suicidal. Please do not go out with him or take anything from him. Try your best to keep away from him.
