Deceased woman's family hires lawyer

By KAVELLE ANGLIN-CHRISTIE, Staff Reporter

THE FAMILY OF Claudia Millford, the 33-year-old blind woman who fell from the third floor of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) building and died on December 27, has recently hired a lawyer to act on its behalf.

Mr. Norris Miller, Millford's brother said, "We acquired the services of a lawyer to act on behalf of us with the administration of the hospital, because we will be needing certain information from them because we want to establish the time of death."

Millford, a wife and mother of three, was a mentally ill patient who was being treated at the KPH. It is reported that she was discovered missing from her ward at 6:00 a.m.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) theorise that Millford wandered from her bed and fell from the third floor, breaking her neck.
